Broadband Failover

You know how aggravating it is when your connection is lost for a couple of hours and how impossible business becomes if the connection is off for a day or more.

ADSL reliability and failover

• ADSL is less reliable than dedicated broadband links
• Because ADSL runs over the copper voice telephone network, ADSL achieves a lower reliability level than a business oriented leased line connection.
• If an ADSL connection fails, it may take some time to restore. No provider of any broadband service can guarantee that this will not happen.

Safeserve offer various methods of Internet "failover". For example, if you already have an ISDN line, we can provide a special Router that - in the event of ADSL failure - fails over to provide access via ISDN. While this doesn't provide the speed of ADSL, at least you are still connected to the Internet and email will still be sent and delivered.

Another method is to be connected via two or more broadband lines on different circuits. These could be mixture of ADSL and cable - or ADSL from different service providers.

The incremental cost is minimal, since you can add an additional fixed IP address line anywhere in the UK that ADSL is available from only £200 a year.
