Managed Email Services for Business
email list serverInstead of trying to send an email as several hundred emails by entering all the addresses in the To, CC or BCC in the email, you should use the List Server Mailing List functions built into the Safeserve Mail Server.
The recipients' email addresses (called Subscribers) are held on the Safeserve Mail Server.
The list may be configured so that ONLY the moderator or the subscribers can “post to the list”.
List password - Posting to the list may also be restricted by requiring a password. To post to a list that is password protected you must send the password in the subject enclosed by brackets and colons
Create the content of the email as you normally would in Outlook, Entourage, or any other email program.
In the To field, enter listname@mydomain.com
In the Subject field, enter [:password:] Subject.
In the example below, the listname is newsletter, the domain name is safeserve.com and the password is abcde123.

Click on Send. That’s it!
In your web browser, go to http://mail.safeserve.com (or click on this link)
Log in as: myusername@mydomain.com
Password:
Select [Settings], [Mailing Lists]

Click on [Manage], [Subscribers]

From this list you can add and delete addresses.
Also note that you can download the list to your workstation, work on the list there and then upload the list to either replace the existing list or create a new one..
The list itself couldn’t be simpler – each line contains just the email address for each subscriber.
On your website add a link that allows a new subscriber to add their own address to the list. The link creates an email to the Mail List with the following info:
Send an email To: STServ@mydomain.com
If you wish, you could add your email address in the cc: field
Subject: Subscribe newsletter
The maximum size of a newsletter has been set at 1MB (1024KB) which should be sufficient. This can be increased.
Do not alter the Max recipients / message from 20. This means that an email to 400 subscribers would be sent as 20 emails each to 20 subscribers and prevents overloading the mail server message queue.
